History: a continuation of the tenth-anniversary celebration

The Veja V-12 hit the market in 2017, as a model created for the brand's twelfth anniversary, building on the success of the V-10 from previous years. It shares a similar aesthetic to the V-10 but offers a narrower, more supportive fit in the midfoot and a sleeker, more elegant silhouette with a thinner sole – while the V-10 opts for a bulkier, more pronounced shape, the V-12 takes the route of a lighter and more minimalist look.

Technology: wild rubber, rice waste, and recycled materials

What makes the V-12 durable despite its slimmer construction are these elements:

• Wild Rubber sole with rice waste: An innovative blend of wild Amazonian rubber, rice waste, and recycled rubber – thinner than the V-10, yet still offering solid cushioning and walking comfort.
• Leather, suede, or B-mesh upper: Panels made from leather or breathable B-mesh material depending on the chosen variant, combining support with ventilation.
• Recycled lining and organic cotton: Soft inner lining made from recycled plastic bottles combined with organic cotton.

Durability

Amazonian wild rubber in the sole offers excellent grip and wear resistance, with seams stitched rather than glued, extending the shoe's lifespan. With proper care, Veja sneakers can last for years – the rubber sole maintains grip and wear resistance, while the leather upper naturally ages over time instead of quickly deteriorating. However, the shoe is not intended for intense sports activities.
